Last Friday of the Month Book Club

Happy Birthday To Us!
This was the one year anniversary of the Last Friday of the Month book club! We celebrated with cake (what's a birthday party without cake?) and shared what we've been reading. It was a fun time! At this meeting we distributed a booklet with all the titles we've discussed over the past year. Though our group is relatively small and each month's attendance has varied we have still compiled quite a list of books. Below is a list of those books. Our next meeting will be held on Friday, October 26th at 11am and we would be delighted to see you there!
These are the titles of books, series, authors and the occasional DVD we have discussed over the past year!

Our November meeting was an intimate group. I suppose everyone was out buying their Thanksgiving turkey!
While enjoying coffee and tea with cranberry bread and biscotti we shared books we've enjoyed. Hopefully next month's meeting will draw more attendees so we can gather a bigger list of book suggestions! Hope to see you on Friday, December 30th at 11am in the Community Room for book talk and muchies.

November Meeting Reminder
Hi everyone,
Just a reminder that our club meeting will be held tomorrow, the 18th rather than the last Friday of the month to give us time to recover from Thanksgiving! Hope to see you at 11am to share book talk, hot beverages and some sweets!

October Meeting
Today we had our second meeting of the Last Friday of the Month Book Club. We all had an enjoyable time sharing book recommendations while enjoying coffee and pastry. We were especially lucky to be joined by local author Chris Pfeil this month. Chris shared the events in her life that lead to her writing career and then read excerpts from her two books for us. Both Chris's books are available through amazon.com for purchase or download. Link to Chris Pfeil's novel A Shepherd's Rod I for one intend to check them out! Even though we are the "Last Friday" club, our next meeting will be held on November 18th. We decided that the day after Thanksgiving would find most of us too full or too busy shopping to attend. I hope to see you then!

What's Up?
Just a reminder the next meeting of the Last Friday of the Month Book Club will be held on October 28th. I can't wait to hear about what everyone has read. Remember, you don't have to tell us about a book you are currently reading, you can share with us a book you read at anytime that you enjoyed. Hope to see you at the library on the 28th. Remember hot beverages and goodies will be served!

Today we had our first meeting of the "Last Friday of the Month" book club. Though it was a small gathering it was quite fun and informative. While enjoying some coffee, tea and goodies we shared some book recommendations. I think we are off to a good start! Hopefully more people will join us next month to socialize and share some titles! Hope to see you there on Friday, October 28th at 11am.

New Book Club!
Join us on the last Friday of each month at 11 am in the Library's Conference Room. No registration is necessary, just drop in with a book or two that you liked. Let the group know briefly (3 minutes max) why you'd recommend it. Don't be intimidated, we just want your opinion - not a book report! Coffee, tea and goodies will be served. The first meeting of this new book group will be held on September 30th. Hope to see you there!
